Behind Dream Row

Dream Row was founded in 2007 under the corporate umbrella of Elite Technology Systems Inc of Tennessee. Two founders (Dan Shaw and Revin Guillen) both saw the world of the entertainment industry where everyone learned from each other. Plus in what other industry do you get to attend shows, hang out with artists, industry types and call it business?
Meet the leadership team for Elite Technology Systems Inc. DBA: Dream Row

Darrell Robertson- CEO – Darrell comes to us from many business sides, as he is our more corporate guy, but he still has a drive for the independent out of the box thinking. He gives the team the marketing expertise outside the Internet. “Marketing is marketing doesn’t matter the medium” so Darrell says. We think we can work with him without choking him. Darrell is our talking voice and really knows how to fire up the team to stay on task and get the job done just how he wants it. Wait a minute how did he do that??? Darrell is still old school to where he likes calendars that are in a book not on a computer and says “What’s the Twitter for, again?.” Darrell was made CEO of ETS in Feb, 2012. A big “WOOT” for Darrell but does he know what he got himself into? Darrell is also currently the President and Managing Broker of Real Choice Realty Group, has over 20 years of operational and management experience in many different areas of business. Prior to starting his own company in 1999, he was operations manager for JCPenney Telemarketing Center, one of the largest telesales centers in the nation. Mr. Robertson headed a team of professionals that helped structure business relationships with companies such as DuPont, Direct TV and USSB, Shop Television Network (STN), and Shoppers Express, just to name a few. He helped these companies and others use state-of-the-art technology to achieve greater efficiencies and maximize execution of their culture and business principles.
After leaving JCPenney’s, he started Century Homes, a contracting company that specialized in alternative building products. Mr. Robertson was the first builder to construct steel frame homes in an affordable price range in the Middle Tennessee area. His homes were used to help set the codes standard in the city of Nashville. His success with Century Homes allowed him to start Covenant Funding, a mortgage company with over 15 employees, and a leader in the market place for home loan origination.
Mr. Robertson it not only a successful entrepreneur but he has earned his designation as a Realtor, and is a member of the National Association of Realtors. He has also empathetically helped other business owners set priorities and create the balance they need between life and work. He is a regular guest speaker for three local colleges in the areas of business and finance. Darrell Robertson has a practical, down-to-earth style with a clear focus on results. He resides in Brentwood, Tennessee, where he involved with community causes and organization.
Dan Shaw Operations Director, Managing Editor, Promotions Director–Dan is the co-founder and man of many hats behind Dream Row. Dan believes there’s real influence on the world in the entertainment industry. Dan acts as Managing Editor of Dream Row’s online magazine content. He makes everyone work for nothing and smile about it. Actually he just thinks they are smiling. Back in the day he used to promote models that wanted to be discovered. Now that sounds like a fun business to be in. He says, “Yes, it was a business, but a huge pain in the butt dealing with all the models that don’t know how to tell time.” He was the model promotions manager E.P.M which means he was with the models 90% of the time from shooting locations to conventions. (It was more of a pain than a asset, actually.) As for Dream Row, Dan is just happy to help, in any way possible, those looking to reach their goals in the industry. Plus he has such a great time just being around such talented individuals. Revin though can still drive Dan insane but they are the Yin and Yang of Dream Row. You can read Dan’s blog Red Head here.
Revin Guillen Engineering Director - – Revin is the co-founder, President of the Board, and head nerd overseeing all the technical … stuff. He’s been a professional web developer almost since the beginning of the Web itself. He’s built large systems. He’s built small systems. He says open standards are best, and he passionately works hard to keep things simple. Trim All The Things! Plus he just loves to drive Dan & Darrell nuts when they want things done right now! As Revin puts it “You both are fire drills when there is no fire.” Sometimes he is “right” but don’t tell him we said that. Revin is also the President of the board of directors for ETS, which means he is in charge at those meetings and signs some paperwork. He doesn’t get a bodyguard though and still has to put up with Dan.
Revin is a super nerd as he is a Web app architect and developer specializing in performance and highly responsive user interfaces. Revin’s Specialties: Web Applications: JavaScript, Dojo, AIR, PHP, SQL, etc. Extensive Linux/Apache/MySQL/PHP stack experience. HTML/CSS. RPC, SOAP, web services, user interface design. C/C++/Java experience. Ajax Software Architect & LAMP Engineer. Yep, that is why he is head NERD of ETS and Dream Row.
Amy Shaw- Financial Director, Assistant Editor – Amy is our head bean counter (Accountant) and also cracks the whip on Dan and Revin for spending too much money, OK mostly Dan. Amy has a degree in bean counting from some farm college in Cookeville, TN. She loves numbers and watching them move around spreadsheets and journal entries. Amy is also the one that attends shows in Nashville and the surrounding area with Dan, as they are a couple. I wondering if HR knows that? I think she more goes to control Dan’s “write-offs”. Amy is the Secretary of the board of directors for ETS. Simply put she takes the meeting notes, and reads them. That kind of sounds like real work, doesn’t it?
See we told you he was our more corporate guy! We love him anyway and are glad to have his leadership of ETS and Dream Row.
There are many others outside of management that keep this machine going. They know who they are and we are proud to have them on board with us. We love that they have fun being on staff, SME, Freelancer or interning with ETS & Dream Row. Now go learn about our culture at Dream Row
